In the Bio-Nano-Sensing group, in the School of Chemistry, we are studying and engineering the interactions of molecules, nanomaterials and biomaterials to create the next generation of sensors and diagnostics.
Our Research Themes
Functional Molecules and Nanomaterials
Engineering nanomaterials, nanosurfaces and molecules with bespoke supramolecular and optical properties, for sensing and imaging.
Sensing Arrays
Coupling arrays of molecules and nanosurfaces, with statistics and machine learning, to sense, discriminate and analyse complex mixtures.
Liver Disease
Building new sensing materials, engineering new detection techniques and exploring biomarker discovery for liver disease, with a focus on early fibrosis detection, and multiplexed near-patient measurement.
